2010 APEX awards – where great ideas meet great results.
The Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) announced the adjudication panel for the 2010 APEX awards – a significant event for the advertising and communications profession!
As the advertising and communications industry picks up from a sluggish 2009, now, for than ever, agencies are required to prove their Rand value to their clients. Effectiveness, contribution to bottom line and accountability are paramount in client agency relationships as marketers and advertisers face increased pressure to account for results. APEX promotes the discipline of accountability by rewarding communications campaigns that have worked hard, delivered results and that resonate in the minds of their target audiences. This is what differentiates APEX from any other industry award.
The entry process may be hard work but the reward is great. The adjudication process for APEX is very stringent because entrants must systematically provide evidence of their campaigns’ effectiveness whilst carefully excluding any causal effects of other non-communication variables. It therefore goes without saying that winning an APEX is a real demonstration of strategic and creative effectiveness, and positions award winners as true leaders of the profession. This is what makes APEX so unique.
Announcing the panel of judges recently, Ivan Moroke, Group Managing Director of Yellowwood Future Architects and Vice Chairperson of the 2010 APEX awards adjudication panel says “Despite all the evidence that has shown marketing communications to be an essential business tool (as opposed to a business nice-to-have), business leaders are yet to fully embrace and acknowledge the importance of the profession.”
This year, APEX boasts first class professionals on the adjudication panel - they are: 1. Andy Rice – Chairman of Yellowwood Future Architects and Chair of the 2010 APEX adjudication panel 2. Odette Roper, CEO of the ACA adds: “An APEX is unlike any other trophy in a display cabinet – it is a statement of credibility for agencies and marketers alike and can be used as a business tool to build more collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships between agencies and their clients.”
“The ACA is very proud of the APEX awards which has grown bigger and better year-on-year. Together with our sponsors, the SABC and the team from Ogilvy Johannesburg who are assisting the ACA with the 2010 APEX communications campaign, we are looking forward to another successful APEX. Good luck to all the entrants – we look forward to hosting you at the gala event in May.” concludes Roper.
